/ feedback “If you were wondering what happened to David Kempston (aka Clatterbox), following the demise of the legendary Clear imprint and a short-lived collaboration with Metamatics for the Neo Ouija imprint, here's the first fruits of his freshly squeezed new imprint "Z-bop". More or less everyone involved with Clear has gone on to impress - from Autechre's Gescom side-project to Mathew Herbert's Doctor Rockit, so it's with some comfort that hitting "Science Fraction" on this twelve we discovered pure gold with a simply devastating cut - one half staggered techno, one half Ae-structured electro : punishing, cut-up, distorted, HEAVY. Other tunes here are quite good, but buy for this cut alone - floor-wiping styles!” boomkat. |
